ESCAPE TO THE PHILIPPINES – GUYAM ISLAND

Guyam is a small island in the Surigao del Norte province in the Southern Philippine Sea measuring only 4,300m. It’s 230m coastline is a mix of silky soft white sand juxtaposed with craggy edged rocks and coral formations perfect for snorkelling.

At just 2 kilometres from the central market and fishermans wharf of General Luna it is surprising there is never more than a handful of adventurers there at any one time, allowing those who do venture pure peace and tranquility.

Guyam is one of three islands regularly visited on island hopping tours offered by resorts and locals throughout General Luna to Cloud 9. These typically cost 1200-1500 pesos per person.

To get there you simply need to go to the market in Genera Luna and many of the fisherman will offer their services. A fair price to visit one island is 500 pesos for the boat and you can stay as long as you like or combine Guyam with Daku or Naked Island for your own personal island hopping tour totalling 1200 pesos for everyone for the whole day.
